DIY Bailey's...with Coffee Dust

DIY Baileys… But Make It Coffee Dust

If you’ve ever looked at a bottle of Baileys and thought, “I could absolutely make that,” congratulations — you’re correct. And if you’ve ever thought, “I bet I can make it taste even better,” then welcome to my holiday-season personality.

This year, I went full mad-scientist in the kitchen and made homemade Baileys Irish Cream… and then upgraded it with Coffee Dust because of course I did. The result? A creamy, chocolatey, gently spiced liqueur that tastes like your coffee and your cocktail decided to become best friends.

Let’s just say: store-bought Baileys is now nervous.

☕️ The Coffee Dust Twist

Traditional recipes call for instant coffee granules, but we all know instant coffee’s real job is to sit in the pantry until the end of time.

So instead, I added 1 teaspoon of Coffee Dust — in my case, half Mocha Mint and half Cocoa Calm — and it was chef’s kiss levels of delicious.

  • Mocha Mint brings a subtle, cooling chocolate-mint vibe

  • Cocoa Calm layers in deep, rich cocoa with a hint of lavender

Together? They taste like the holidays gave you a hug. A cozy, slightly boozy hug.

🍀 The Recipe: Homemade Baileys Irish Cream (Coffee Dust Edition)

Prep Time: 1 minute
Total Time: 5 minutes
Yield: 1 liter (aka “a very good decision”)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (227 ml) heavy cream or half & half (I used heavy cream)

  • 1 can (14 oz / 395 ml) sweetened condensed milk

  • 3 tablespoons chocolate syrup

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • 1⅔ cup (400 ml) Irish whiskey (I used Jameson)

  • 1 teaspoon Coffee Dust — I used ½ Mocha Mint + ½ Cocoa Calm, and I highly recommend this life choice

Instructions

Dump everything in a blender, give it a 20-second whirl, and boom — you’re suddenly the kind of person who makes their own Irish cream. Pour it into a nice bottle and try not to drink half of it “while tasting for quality and science.”

Store in the fridge and shake before using.

🍸 How to Enjoy Your Coffee-Dusted Baileys

  • Over ice, like a civilized human

  • In coffee (my personal favorite — two rituals, one mug)

  • In hot chocolate

  • Drizzled on ice cream if you’re feeling chaotic

  • As a holiday gift labeled Made By Me, Please Be Impressed

  • Straight from the fridge door at midnight — no judgment

🎁 Make It a Homemade Gift

Attach a tiny spoon and a little shaker of Coffee Dust to the bottle with twine and suddenly you’re the most charming DIY gift-giver of all time. People will talk about you at parties (in a good way).

✨ Final Thoughts

Homemade Baileys is easy, delicious, and dangerously fun to make. But adding Coffee Dust? That’s where the magic happens. The spices melt into the chocolate and whiskey in the best possible way.

If you try it — especially with different Coffee Dust flavors — tell me everything. I want to hear your holiday beverage breakthroughs.
